Dance Scholarship Information
The mission of Friends of the Blue Springs Ballet is to provide support and professional growth for the company dancers while promoting community cultural awareness. The purpose of Friends of the Blue Springs Ballet is to increase the opportunities of company members to achieve their career goals through dance.
In order to accomplish this mission and purpose, FBSB is awarding scholarships for further study through ballet workshops and summer programs. All members of the Blue Springs Ballet Company who are fulfilling their Contract are eligible. Families of applicants must be current members of FBSB.
This year, through the FBSB scholarship endowment with Truman Heartland Community Foundation, monies are available for scholarships to be dispersed at the discretion of the Scholarship Selection Committee. One or more scholarships may be given to help defray the expenses incurred by dancers attending workshops and summer programs. The selection committee will be nominated by the president of FBSB and elected by the Board. The committee will be composed of one member of the FBSB Board and two members of the general membership. Relatives of scholarship applicants are ineligible to serve on the Scholarship Selection Committee.
To apply for a scholarship, the dancer must complete the application form below no later thanĀ March 17th, 2025.
The Scholarship Selection Committee will make scholarship designations based on the evaluation of the artistic director and written responses provided by the applicant.
Recipients will be notified by March 27th, 2025.
Each recipient must file a brief written report to FBSB about the workshop or program participated in within six months of the presentation of the scholarship.
